Caversham Primary Schools Football Tournament

The fifth annual Caversham Primary Schools Football Tournament was held on Wednesday 23rd May at Highdown School.

Organised by Caversham AFC, the tournament was once again, a great success.  8 local primary schools were represented with teams coming from; Caversham Park, St Anne’s, St Martin’s, Micklands, Caversham, Thameside, The Hill and Kidmore End.

Tournament Organiser Dave Renshaw said, ‘the Tournament is now a well established and important part of Caversham AFC’s work within the local community’.  He added that the boys and girls had been a credit to their schools.  All the games played were very competitive but were played in a real spirit of sportsmanship, fairness and having fun.

The overall winners of the event were The Hill Primary School.  Kidmore End Primary School were runners up and Micklands were awarded the Fair Play trophy.
