Key Action Points from the Managers and Coaches Meeting – Monday 12 October
Attendance
Missing Groups: U8s, U9 Kings, U10 Hawks, U11 Storm, U12 Kites, U14 Cougars.
It is very disappointing that these squads were not represented at the meeting. The Club holds these meetings every couple of months to make sure that everyone is up to date with Club developments and that all managers and coaches understand their responsibilities and are briefed on any actions required. It is not a great commitment and we rely on all squads making the effort to ensure that they are represented. The meetings are important in ensuring that there is good communication and that the Club runs efficiently and effectively.
Club Development:
The Club development plan is now under consideration by the Berks and Bucks FA. One of the immediate needs is to gather copies of coaching certificates. If you hold a FA Coaching Level 1 qualification the Club needs a copy of your certificate as soon as possible. Please scan and send by email to Rob Wytchard or give a photocopy to a member of the Exec.
Discipline
It was reaffirmed that all fines resulting from yellow or red cards on the field of play are the responsibility of the players. The Club does not meet the disciplinary fines of players. The Club may make the initial payment in order to meet deadlines and avoid any additional fines. However it is then the team manager’s responsibility to collect the fine money from the individual player.
The FA Respect Campaign
All Caversham Team Managers have the responsibility to get their players, coaches and a representative group of parents/spectators signed up the RESPECT codes of conduct. Packs are available from Martyn Keep and have also been distributed by the BYDL. This is not a difficult or time consuming task and can be quickly completed when the players and coaches are together for a training session or game. Please make sure that the sign up is completed for your team and keep the sign-up sheets safe as we may need them as evidence of the Club’s good practice.
Clayfield pitches have now been marked with an additional line on both sides of the pitch – all spectators should stay behind this line. The only people allowed on the side of the pitch are the officials and the team coach/manager.
Reimbursements of expenses – Finance
Referees’ fees and other expenses will be reimbursed by the Club normally at Managers and Coaches meetings. Reimbursement can be arranged at other times through contact with Kent Thompson. Please do not let your expenses build up for months and months. Please also ensure that you keep clear records of any monies spent.
Any questions about any of the above please contact me.
